Old man maple keeps watch over the neighborhood and I swear he sometimes winks at me when I walk by. He is home to mosses and ferns, squirrels and robins, and one or two otherworldy creatures.

I came across these two crows silhouetted against the sky 

on my daily walk with the pups. 

I think it's a good omen for the start of the new year.
